How do I register the CRA My Business Account?
- Go to the CRA My Business Account website
- Choose CRA register
Have your business number and copies of personal tax returns from the current and previous tax years ready. The applications will ask for specific information from these returns. The line number amount requested will vary. It may be from the current tax year or the previous year.
- The CRA will mail you an access code. Make sure the CRA has your current address on file.
- Sign in to your CRA My Business using the same link above.

How do I pay my business taxes online?
- Sign into your financial institution’s online banking service for businesses.
Some financial institutions require their clients to sign up for a business bank account to make business payments. Please check with your financial institution to see if you require assistance. - Under “Add a payee,” look for an option such as:
- Federal – Corporation Tax Payments – TXINS
- Federal – GST/HST Payment – GST-P (GST-P)
- Federal Payroll Deductions – Regular/Quarterly – EMPTX – (PD7A)
- Federal – Canada Emergency Wage Subsidy Repayment
- Enter your 15-digit business number as your CRA account number.
Make sure the number is accurate so that the CRA can apply your payment correctly. - Choose the correct payment period ending (yyyy-mm-dd). For example, if you are paying 2021 corporate tax owing, you should choose taxing owing period ending 2021-12-31. If you are paying a 2022 tax installment, you should choose intermit payment with period ending 2022-12-31. If you choose the wrong period, Communicate with the CRA will apply the payment to the wrong period.
